Hi Group,
It’s Natalie here checking in to see how our science project is going. If you have any questions, ask me on the discussion page
Below is the work we’ve done so far:
What are we doing? (AIM) § To see how different packaging affects chocolate
What do we think will happen? (HYPOTHESIS) § Jordan and Brooklyn: Think that the clingwrap will protect the chocolate the best § Mia: Thinks that the gladbag will protect the chocolate the best § Shabih: Thinks that the foil will protect the chocolate the best § Shiann: ??
What will we need to do the experiment? (EQUIPMENT) § Chocolate blocks § Newspaper § 1 icecream container § 1 packet of cling wrap § 1 packet of foil § 1 plastic bag § 1 glad bag
How are we going to do the experiment? (METHOD)
1. Outside in a quiet area lay out some newspaper on ground
2. Unwrap chocolate blocks and break them into half
3. Put each half block of chocolate into a different type of packaging, leaving 1 unpackaged
4. Place each package of chocolate on top of newspaper
5. Record in table if the chocolate is changing in each package (i.e. Is it the same colour? Has it melted? Are there any bugs on the chocolate?)
6. Repeat step 5 each day for 5 days
For the experiment: § What are we keeping the SAME?
· All the chocolate will be the same type (brown)
· All the chocolate packages will have the same weather
· All the chocolate packages will be kept in the same place
· All the chocolate packages will be checked for 5 days (same time)
§ What are we CHANGING?
The type of packaging
One chocolate block will be in clingwrap
One chocolate block will be in a glad bag
One chocolate block will be in an ice cream container
